| Visteon Automotive Systems (Ford Motor
Company), 1990 - Present, Dearborn, Michigan As a Lead Embedded Software Engineer in the Electronic Instrumentation department, I provide not only technical support but also am called upon to mentor other engineers new to the section. I have worked closely with both domestic and international customers in all phases of the product development process from capturing customer requirements to launching automotive products with embedded software. Interfaced with customers in Japan (Honda and Mazda), Germany (VW), and England (Jaguar), on-site technical reviews in Brazil, and supported manufacturing site in Portugal. Current projects include; Stepper Motor Core Software driver package for interfacing either Switec or MMT stepper motors to Driver Information products. Task includes generating software requirements, design specification, implementation, unit test, and user documentation as well as holding reviews and following the Visteon Software Process. Investigating alternative to ASIC interface chip using PIC processor. Past projects include the following; 1998 Honda Instrument Cluster, 1998.5 Mazda J97 Cluster: Currently providing software for this high-volume instrument cluster based on the Motorola 68HC05B6. 1997 Jaguar Instrument Cluster: This is a high-end instrument cluster that contains 6 stepper motors, a message center, and two in-vehicle networks; CAN (Controller Area Network) and SCP (Standard Corporate Protocol). The cluster uses a Motorola 68HC11KA2 microcontroller and the software is written in a mixture of C and assembler. Created CAN interface for network emulation including Visual Basic program for access to the network from a PC. 1995.5 VW/Ford European Instrument Cluster: This instrument cluster consists of 3 version from a basic 4 air-core gauge cluster to an added warnings module to one with a trip computer. This cluster uses a Motorola 68HC11E20 micro and is programmed in assembler. Raycon Corporation, 1986 - 1990, Ann Arbor, Michigan Designed hardware and software for Electrical Discharge Machines. Designed Pulse Generator, Gap Sense Protection, and 8051 MicroModule/Network boards. Designed system software for RE35 EDM and IBM based operating system for RP200. Designed Printed Circuit Boards for modules. Texas Instruments, 1985-1986. Farmington Hills, Michigan Designed Floppy Disc Controller Software and Kermit communications software for CompuChek Diesel Engine Test Stand. Designed RS232 interface for TMS32020 Transmission Gear Tester. Boeing Aerospace Corporation, 1981 - 1985, Seattle, Washington Designed test software for Air-Launch Cruise Missile. |
